Darussalam Pilotage Services Sdn Bhd (DPS) is offering a Maritime Academy Deck Officer Cadet Diploma Scholarship in Nautical Studies (DNS) and currently looking for candidates with the right mindset and attitude to venture into a professional career as a Marine Pilot.
Responsibilities
-
Navigating and maneuvering ships in and out of ports or other confined or challenging waterways.

Providing expert navigational guidance to vessel Masters and Crews.
- Possess specialized knowledge and skills in handling different types and sizes of vessels, including container ships, tankers, bulk carriers, cruise ships, & etc.
Criteria
-
Brunei Citizen aged between 17 to 20 years old.

At least 5 GCE 'O' Levels and above with credit in English, Malay, Mathematics, Physics, and any other Science subjects.

Must be physically and mentally fit as certified by medical practitioner approved by MPABD (Seafarer medical check-up).

Minimum height of 158cm and weight of 48kg (BMI: 18.5 - 24.9).
- Good eyesight (visual acuity of 6/6) and NOT colour blind.
- Good command of English and Malay in both written and spoken.

International English Language Test System (IELTS) with overall score band of 6 (minimum of 5.5 in each component) is an added advantage.

The final offer is subject to passing assessment, interview, and seafarer medical test.
Successful candidates will be awarded to pursue Diploma in Nautical Studies (DNS) at overseas Maritime Academy
- Successful candidates of this scheme will be bonded to serve the Company for a specified years from the commencement of employment i.e. upon completion of DNS course.
- The scheme covers full time course fee, living expenses, books, and other fees associated with the programme.
- Passed the International English Language Test System (IELTS) with 5.5 overall band (required by the Institution).
- Passed the seafarer medical test as approved by MPABD.
- Successful candidates of this scheme will be bonded to serve the Company for a specified years from the commencement of employment i.e. upon completion of DNS course.
